Henry Grimes

A unique resurrection story, Henry Grimes was well-established in the mid-1960s as an advanced bassist who could hold his own with everyone from Sonny Rollins to Albert Ayler. “Missing” for 30-odd year, he reappeared around the turn of the century and was soon playing almost as well as he had before his hiatus. Henry Grimes died in April 2020.
