Ronald Shannon Jackson

Rumor had it that Jackson had checked himself out of hospital to play at the Moers, Germany, Festival in June 2011, promising doctors he would check back in right after his non-stop performance. A mild heart attack wasn't about to prevent this 70-something from doing what he loved. His life ended, of leukemia in October 2013. He was 73.
