Billy Bang

Giving credit where due, Billy Bang conducted a 50-string salute to his late mentor and pioneer of Free Jazz string playing, violinist Leroy Jenkins at the 2007 Vision Festival in New York. Born 1947 in Alabama, Billy Bang (William Walker)lost his battle against lung cancer on April 11, 2011.
